It was my privilege to attend Palmer College of
Chiropractic. In my 6th
year of formal education, we the young doctors were allowed clinic
privileges. I was indoctrinated
early with a baby 6 weeks old, and I was 23 years old.
I realized the incredible innate intelligence of that baby guided
purely on the wings of Mother Nature. The
symptoms of this child were simple. Everything
that went down came back up as a food bolus and uncontrolled spontaneous
projectile vomiting. As taught
by our college and following clinical protocol, I administered this baby’s
first chiropractic adjustment softly and kindly.
This child was referred to me, as a student, from a pediatrician who
suggested chiropractic, perhaps because Palmer was the fountainhead of
chiropractic.
Approximately 2 hours after this first
chiropractic adjustment, I was called from class to go to the clinic.
Being a young physician, this was one of those times where you think,
“Oh my gosh! What
happened!” What happened was
marvelous! The wonderful
problem was the mother saying, “Doc, how do you shut this child off?
All he wants to do is eat.” I
was very jubilant. In a
professional manor, honing my verbal skills, I stated, “I will call your
pediatrician so in fact the baby does not over eat.”
Folks, I only have a few words allowed.
So lets just scan a few thoughts.
A perfect person is brought about by a union, and life commences, a
zygote. In Michelangelo’s
ceiling art in the Sistine Chapel, it depicts God with his index finger out
touching another index finger. This
artwork is called “The Creation of Adam”(the zygote).
Fitting for the sign of life.
Chiropractic has once again become very popular
among young parents in the rise of young children getting ear tubes.
We have been successful in every ear condition children have had.
That is not to be meant as an arrogant or pompous remark, it is
simply the fact that natural healing is very powerful.
It is in every one of us. In
clinical terms it is the universal innate or intelligence.
Which means that the power the body is born with is the same power it
heals with. Children naturally
heal faster because the body has not yet been trained to weaken.
Many thousands of words can be added in this very
brief critique of such a precious miracle.
